Students expect to shine at H6 following Ofsted report
Featured News / 21 April
Haringey Sixth Form College (H6) has been recognised as EXPECTED across all categories in its latest Ofsted Report Card – the new national inspection framework introduced in 2025 to provide more detailed, transparent and balanced assessment of schools and colleges.
Under the updated system, Ofsted evaluates education providers across several core areas, including Inclusion, Curriculum & Teaching, Participation & Development, Attendance & Behaviour, Achievement, and Leadership & Governance, with Safeguarding assessed separately.
Each area is graded on a five-point scale: Exceptional, Strong Standard, Expected Standard, Needs Attention and Urgent Improvement. Unlike the previous ‘single judgement’ model, the new Report Card is designed to give parents, carers, and communities a fuller picture of an institution’s strengths and culture.
The Ofsted report praised the college’s “highly inclusive culture”, its “expert pastoral care” and its focus on giving all learners “a similar chance to thrive”.
“Learners describe the college community as a ‘Haringey family’, where everyone works in an inclusive and aspirational environment. Staff get to know learners well, greeting them by name in the communal areas and as they arrive at college,” Ofsted Report Card 2026
The report reflects the college’s commitment to ensuring that no child goes unnoticed, recognising each student’s individuality, and giving every young person in their care the confidence, freedom and guidance they need to really shine.
Principal Lisa Westray said: “We’re incredibly proud of this report. Our consistent ratings reflect and recognise the hard work of our students, the dedication of our staff, and the strength of our community. What matters most to us is that young people feel like they belong here, and that they leave us having grown in confidence, with the skills they need to make their next step. That’s what Haringey Sixth Form College is all about.”
Haringey Sixth Form College continues to focus on providing a safe, inclusive, and aspirational environment for young people across North London — and remains committed to helping every student discover who they are and what they can achieve.
