It has been another #Amazing week at #TeamHaringey6, with students taking part in a wide range of activities that enrich learning, build confidence and develop real-world skills. From educational visits and leadership opportunities to practical life-skills workshops, our learners have continued to broaden their horizons and discover new experiences as part of the #H6Experience.

Exploring Psychology and Leadership at the Freud Museum

Our Level 2 Public Services and Level 3 Uniformed Protective Services (UPS) students visited the Freud Museum London, where they explored the life and work of Sigmund Freud. During the visit, students learned about the development of talking therapy and the psychodynamic approach, which directly supports learning in the UPS psychology-based unit Behaviour and Discipline.

The trip also included an element of adventurous activity and leadership development. Our Level 3 Year 2 students took responsibility for navigating the route, planning the journey using public transport and leading the walking route. The younger learners rose to the challenge, working hard to keep pace and follow directions. It was fantastic to see students applying teamwork, communication and resilience in a real-life environment.

Importantly, the visit also created opportunities for students across our Public Services courses to build new friendships and strengthen existing ones. Learners demonstrated compassion and responsibility by supporting each other throughout the day, reinforcing the strong sense of community that defines #TeamHaringey6.

A huge thank you to Lisa, our Level 2 Public Services students, and all Level 3 Year 2 learners for demonstrating excellent leadership, mentoring and teamwork throughout the trip.

First Aid and Emergency Response with St John Ambulance

Back on campus, our Public Services and Sport students took part in a hands-on First Aid and Emergency Response workshop delivered by St John Ambulance.

The session gave students the opportunity to develop practical, potentially life-saving skills, while also understanding how emergency response works in real-world situations. Activities like this help build confidence, responsibility and readiness for careers in public service, sport, health and emergency response sectors.

Students were fully engaged throughout the workshop, demonstrating the positive learning attitudes and active participation that are central to the culture at Haringey Sixth Form College.

Our Level 3 Health & Social Care students also attended an engaging money management workshop delivered by The Money Charity. The session focused on building financial awareness and helping students develop the knowledge and confidence to manage their money effectively.

During the workshop, students explored important topics including:

  • Understanding the different types of scams and fraud and how to spot them

  • Knowing what to do if you become a victim of scams or fraud

  • Identifying money muling and understanding the risks involved

  • Recognising financial abuse and its warning signs

  • Developing stronger budgeting and money management skills

These sessions help equip learners with essential life skills and financial literacy, supporting their personal development and preparing them for independent living and future careers.

This week perfectly reflects what it means to be part of #TeamHaringey6. Our students continue to benefit from a rich curriculum that combines academic learning, practical experiences and personal development opportunities.

From educational visits and leadership challenges to life-skills workshops and professional partnerships, we are proud to provide opportunities that help our learners build cultural capital, develop confidence and prepare for the future.

This week has truly been #Amazing, and we love seeing our students continue to #DiscoverTheDifference and enjoy their #H6Experience.

We are already looking forward to another exciting week of learning, new activities and opportunities — because at Haringey Sixth Form College we are #MoreThanACollege.
