Students Gained Leadership, Confidence and Work‑Experience Skills at Hindleap Warren
From 6–8 February, a group of 11 students took part in a highly rewarding residential trip to Hindleap Warren Activity Centre, an opportunity made possible through our partnership with Streetz Ahead. The experience allowed students to work directly with primary and secondary school children, supporting them through outdoor activities while developing key leadership and teamwork skills.
Throughout the weekend, our students played an active role in guiding younger pupils during forest walks, group challenges, confidence‑building activities and teamwork tasks. The residential setting encouraged responsibility, communication, and positive role‑modelling — all essential qualities that contribute to personal development and preparation for future pathways.
This experience strongly supported the college’s commitment to providing enriching opportunities that build independence, resilience and practical skills beyond the classroom. Feedback from students highlighted improvements in teamwork, leadership, communication, confidence and their ability to support others.
Streetz Ahead said " Outstanding Young Leaders! A huge shout-out goes to the 11 incredible students from Haringey Sixth Form Centre. They were absolute stars — supporting and leading groups, mentoring young people who were nervous about heights, offering reassurance to those feeling anxious, and helping reinforce bedtimes when midnight feasts got a little too exciting. Their kindness, relatability, and leadership made a massive difference."
