Our students were privileged to take part in an inspiring and deeply motivational assembly led by Dr Mark Prince OBE, founder of the Kiyan Prince Foundation (KPF), Head Youth Work Facilitator and Qualified Life Coach.

Students from H6 Level 2 & Level 3 Sport and Level 3 Uniformed Protective Services attended the session, where Dr Prince shared his powerful personal journey and introduced the Future Champions Programme—a transformative initiative he leads, which our students will begin participating in from January 2026.

The programme is designed to:
• Develop leadership, resilience and self-worth in young people
• Provide access to inspiring guest speakers, including elite athletes, creatives and professionals with lived experience
• Use sport, creative expression and group discussion as tools for personal growth
• Raise aspirations and reduce vulnerability to negative influences, such as violence, exploitation and low attainment

During the assembly, Dr Prince also spoke movingly about his son, Kiyan Prince—a gifted young footballer for Queens Park Rangers who was widely recognised as a rising star of the sport. In May 2006, at just 15, Kiyan tragically lost his life after bravely stepping in to defend a friend outside his school.

In Kiyan’s honour, Dr Prince established the Kiyan Prince Foundation, which supports young people by promoting self-discovery, discipline and self-esteem, and by encouraging the development of a true “champion’s mindset” through sport and success coaching.

The assembly left a profound impact on all who attended, offering students both inspiration and practical tools to support their future growth—on and off the field.

Our Learning for Life SEND provision enjoyed a wonderful Christmas outing this week as H6 Discovery Class Two headed out for a festive Turkish lunch. The group travelled together using public transport, where students demonstrated exemplary behaviour throughout the journey. They showed strong road-safety awareness and supported one another, making the trip both safe and enjoyable.

Once at the restaurant, students were able to experience a delicious Turkish Christmas meal, sharing food, conversation and plenty of seasonal cheer. Staff commented on how maturely and confidently the group conducted themselves, both during travel and at the venue.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience for everyone involved, offering opportunities to develop independence, social skills and community engagement. The students returned to college full of festive spirit and proud of their achievements.
