#TeamHaringey6 - 3rd Week of November 2025
Featured News / 21 November
What a week #TeamHaringey6 have had!
Starting with attending college fairs, our team has been out and about connecting with prospective students and showcasing everything that makes #TeamHaringey6 unique. Our Principal has also been inspiring future learners by delivering assemblies to Year 11 students in our local secondary schools, giving them a glimpse of the opportunities ahead.
Meanwhile, our students have been making the most of external trips and experiences that are helping to build their #H6Experience — from hands-on workshops to industry visits, each activity is designed to enrich their learning and personal growth.
Our #H6 UAL Level 3 Media students and A Level Media students visited the BFI Southbank for an inspiring Screen Careers panel focused on the importance of representation within the film and television industries.
The event featured three distinguished guests: BAFTA-winning writer-director Adjani Salmon, best known for the critically acclaimed Dreaming Whilst Black; award-winning producer Tobi Kyeremateng; and Rico Johnson-Sinclair, programme lead for the Warner Bros. CREWHQ trainee initiative.
Across the session, the panel shared candid insights into their career journeys, from first steps in the industry to the challenges they faced and the strategies that helped them break through. They offered practical guidance on networking, building a creative portfolio, and staying resilient in an increasingly competitive field.
Students found the discussion both motivating and reassuring. Hearing directly from industry practitioners who champion diversity and advocate for emerging talent helped reinforce the idea that careers in film, television, and media are accessible and achievable.
The group left the BFI feeling empowered, energised, and more confident about pursuing their own pathways into the screen industries.

Our Principal, Lisa, has had a busy and inspiring week delivering two assemblies at Dukes Aldridge Academy and Park View School. She spoke to students about the wide range of post-16 pathways available to them here at #H6, highlighting the opportunities, support, and progression routes we offer.
We were delighted to meet so many enthusiastic young people and look forward to welcoming future applicants to our college community.

We also took part in the Leytonstone Schools College Roadshow, sharing helpful insights about our post-16 courses with Year 10 and Year 11 students exploring their next steps.

Our UAL Year 2 students visited London Metropolitan University this week to take part in a hands-on Risograph printing workshop. Hosted within the Graphic Design department, the session gave students the opportunity to develop their primary photography into experimental print outcomes, resulting in a multi-layered Riso print created for their current project brief.
Alongside the workshop, students were given a guided tour of the campus, exploring a range of working studios across multiple specialisms. This insight into university-level creative spaces provided valuable inspiration and a deeper understanding of potential progression routes within the creative industries.
It was an exciting and productive day, and we’re proud of the work our students produced.

It’s been a busy, exciting week full of connections, learning, and opportunities — and we can’t wait to see what’s next for #TeamHaringey6!
