#TeamHaringey6 have had some amazing things on this week.

This week started on a special note as we celebrated the retirement of our long-standing SEN team member, Rachel. Staff and students came together to wish her all the best for the next chapter and to thank her for her many years of dedication and care.

As part of #BHM2025, we hosted a screening of Black Panther for our students. Throughout October and November, there will be weekly film viewings celebrating Black actors in leading roles.

This week, our team attended a careers fair at a new school — one we had never visited before! It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with new students and share the wide range of courses, opportunities, and experiences we offer here at the college.

We were delighted by the positive and enthusiastic reception we received from both students and staff, and we look forward to building strong links with the school in the future.

Our amazing Catering Team have been serving up a delicious variety of African and Caribbean-inspired lunches each week — and they’ve been a real hit with students and staff alike!

These dishes not only bring bold flavours and vibrant colours to our menus but also celebrate the rich diversity within our college community. A big thank you to our catering staff for their creativity, hard work, and for keeping us all so well-fed — and very happy!

As part of our Learning for Life enrichment activities, we have partnered with Go Live Theatre Company, an organisation that provides students with fantastic opportunities to experience major shows and live events.

Recently, a small mixed group of students attended the ABBA Voyage Education Matinee – an unforgettable trip that both students and staff absolutely loved. It was a fantastic experience, and everyone who took part had a truly memorable day!

Our Level 2 and Level 3 Year 1 Public Services and Level 3 CLP students recently took part in an engaging and informative workshop delivered by Insight, a local Drug and Alcohol Awareness organisation.

The session aimed to educate students on the effects of substance misuse, promote healthy lifestyle choices, and provide information on support services available within the community. Through interactive discussions and real-life case studies, students gained valuable insight into how drug and alcohol issues can impact individuals, families, and wider society.

This workshop not only supports students’ learning within their courses but also helps them develop the knowledge and awareness necessary for future careers in public services and community leadership.

A huge thank you to the team from Insight for delivering such an impactful and thought-provoking session!
