#TeamHaringey6 - Tottenham University Launch Inspires Young Learners and Illustrators
Featured News / 7 October
Haringey Sixth Form College was honoured to host the launch of Tottenham University, welcoming pupils from St Francis de Sales, Lancasterian Primary, Devonshire Hill and Lea Valley Primary for an inspiring day of learning and creativity.
Leading psychiatrist, broadcaster and author Dr Raj Persaud joined us to share his expertise with our young visitors.
The event also marked the launch of the Tottenham University Young Illustrator Challenge 2026, a project delivered in partnership with the Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration.
Imagine Tottenham
The challenge, Imagine Tottenham, invites children to choose a recognisable Tottenham place and imagine something playful, surprising or unexpected happening there. Each entry will bring this idea to life through a single illustration and a short artist statement.
During the launch, Tottenham University pupils were introduced to the challenge and shown how they can take part.
We are particularly delighted that Sir Quentin Blake has created a bespoke illustration for the badges and certificates that will be awarded to participating children. The winning school will also receive a free day of illustration workshops.
We are excited to work alongside the Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration and our local primary schools on a project that encourages children to explore their creativity and see Tottenham in a new way.
