This week, #H6 has been buzzing with energy, collaboration, and a steady stream of activities that highlight both the creativity and commitment of its members. From academic achievements to community-building initiatives.

We started off the week by going to a careers fair at Hornsey school for Girls followed by George Mitchell School.

As part of this year’s Children in Need Day, our student Nathan Goodwin, a valued member of our Learning for Life – Transition Class, has shown incredible dedication and community spirit. Nathan worked hard to raise £49 for the Children in Need charity—an achievement we are all extremely proud of.

To support Nathan’s efforts, students and staff across the college wore yellow, creating a bright and uplifting atmosphere in his honour.

We were also delighted to welcome our SEND Trustee, Deborah Dent, who joined us to watch Nathan’s presentation. Deborah was thoroughly impressed by Nathan’s confidence and commitment.

A huge well done to Nathan for his fantastic achievement, and thank you to everyone who supported him on the day.

Our Learning for Life – Transition class took part in a fantastic, educational and culturally rich trip to Temple Place.

Students had the opportunity to visit a Tudor house situated on the Embankment, gaining a fascinating historical insight into the past of this remarkable building. Temple Place was commissioned by, and built for, William Waldorf Astor in the 1890s.

During the visit, students enjoyed a first-hand guided tour, where they explored a range of architectural features, artworks, intricate carvings and beautifully decorated stained-glass designs.

They also took part in a creative and relaxing clay modelling session, where they were able to recreate carvings and produce their own models inspired by what they had seen on the tour.

A huge thank you to Darren for supporting us throughout this trip!

Our UAL Year 1 Art students enjoyed an inspiring visit to London Metropolitan University, where they explored the vibrant campus and gained hands-on experience with Risography. Students had the opportunity to learn about the Riso printing process, experiment with its unique aesthetic, and create their very own Riso prints.

It was a creative, engaging, and memorable day—full of colour, exploration, and new skills! Let the experiments continue back in the studio.

Our dedicated students preparing for their upcoming Challenges Abroad expedition to Cambodia have taken fundraising into their own hands—one sweet treat at a time. This week, they organised a vibrant and successful bake sale on campus, bringing together staff, students, and visitors in support of their volunteer journey.

The bake sale featured an impressive spread of homemade cakes, cookies, brownies, and other treats, all baked by the students themselves. Not only did the event raise valuable funds to support their travel and project costs, but it also showcased their teamwork, creativity, and commitment to making a positive impact overseas.

During their time in Cambodia, the students will work alongside local communities on sustainable development projects, gaining hands-on experience while contributing to meaningful change. Their recent fundraising efforts demonstrate the enthusiasm and determination they are bringing to this challenge.

A huge thank you goes out to everyone who donated, baked, or purchased something from the stall. Every contribution helps bring our students one step closer to an unforgettable and transformative experience abroad.
