H6 v Mayfield School

Haringey Sixth Form College’s most recent basketball game was an away game which saw them take on Mayfield School, a team who they had previously beaten 111 – 57.

Yesterdays matchup H6 yet again got off to a fast start, taking a comfortable lead going in to the start of the game. With sharp three-point shooting from Alex Distras and Owen Young, Mayfield struggled to reduce the lead, despite a great effort from their starting guard who carried Mayfield with a team high in points including multiple three pointers.

In the second half, H6 managed to increase their lead by stepping up their intensity on defence causing Mayfield to turn the ball over, which lead to easy scores for H6. This, in addition to H6’s excellent ball movement on the offensive end, to create open shot opportunities, meant that the Mayfield could not answer back.

The final score finished with a convincing 105 – 70 win for H6, who’s season record now improves to 8-1 (2nd in the ABL Eastern Conference). Next week (Wednesday 29th) Haringey Sixth Form take on New City College at home. Haringey look to bounce back from a previous narrow defeat to New City earlier in the season, so be sure to come along and support, bring your friends and make some noise!
