Haringey Sixers VS CoHENEL
Haringey sixers faced the CONEL warriors at home in the derby ending with 81-76 victory over their opponents.
The Sixers were in the lead throughout the entire game dominating majority of the match up, only down by 4 points in the 2nd quarter, minimally losing the last quarter by a point due a defensive lapse, to eventually bring it back to end with an 81-76 win.
Haringey's success was aided by top scorers Aikil Nyandebvu with 18 points, following Taiwo Badmus' 14 points and 8 assists, Alasan Thomas' 12 points and 2 monstrous dunks in the 3 quarter along side Joshua Robinsons crowd exhilarating dunk warming them up for Thomas.
CONEL put up a good fight with players, captain TJ Burnett, Kane Smallwood, Emmanuel Omosanya, Abdi Aran all landing on the score sheet, Burnett grabbed 12 points with Aran and Smallwood managing 10 points with the addition of Omosanya’s 8.
Coach Alex DuCasse said “The team came out to do what we wanted, we’ve worked on it and executed. A defensive lapse enabled the opposition to gain some points early in the second however, the Sixers retained a high intensity level playing some hard nose defence. Despite our strong performance today, a lot is to be worked on, always improving.”
Haringey now face Moulton College away for their next fixture.
