ABL Game 9 Haringey Sixers v St Bonaventures

Haringey Sixers won a hard fought game against a feisty young St Bons team. First quarter saw Haringey come out to early lead but only for St Bon’s to fight back and finish the quarter with a 14-15 lead.

The second quarter saw St Bon’s put even more pressure on the division leaders and went into the half time up 25-36.

Haringey responded straight after the break with a 15-0 run to finish the third up 49-43.

However, St Bons wouldn’t go out without a fight and they made a late 9-0 run in the fourth quarter to make it a one point game 61-60. Haringey managed to see out the game and end up 71-66 winners.

Haringey Sixers Coach Perry Lawson commented ‘Hats off to the coaching staff at St Bons as they do a great job with the young team they have. They have a never say die attitude and have taken us right down to the wire both games this season. If that team sticks together they are sure to do great things within UK basketball. I have to say that I am pleased with how we responded straight after half time to come out and go on the run we did. It just put us in a commanding position to see out this game. Still a lot of room for improvement and we are a work in progress.’

Sheik Sherriff top scored for the home side with 21pts and 12rebs and 8blks and Khalil Baro had 18pts 4rebs.
