Sports Trip Olympic Legacy

Students from the Level 3 Year 2 Sport course visited the London 2012 Olympic Park to assess the legacy of the Olympic Games on 23 November. Students are currently studying what barriers to participation exist in sports provision, and there were able to expand their understanding on how sports facilities encourage specific groups of people to participate in sport, particularly those in the Olympic Park, such as the Velodrome and the Aquatics Centre.

Students are now able to use this knowledge when completing their presentations for the Sports Development unit. Jordan Shim, a student on the course, said ‘It was a fun trip, and it was interesting to see what the Olympic Park does for young people in the local community.’
