Welcome to #TeamHaringey6
On the evening of Thursday 3rd of Oct 2019, we welcomed parents/carers/wards and trustees into #TeamHaringey6 for our well rounded Parent Induction Evening and Open House event. It was an amazing evening! All attendees got to enjoy the #H6Experience experience by witnessing the impact of the investments made into the college over the last few years; ranging from the time taken to hand-select quality #H6 staff to the financial investments made into development of facilities to create a modern and holistic environment.
The evening consisted of a VIP reception with a wide variety of delicious food, drinks and snacks provided by Innovate Food. Trustees were able to speak to staff, students and parents to be able to get a real feel of how #H6's transformation has positively impacted the lives of all who work and study there.
After the VIP reception, Russ Lawrance, Principal & CEO gave a welcoming presentation in the lecture-style theatre. Parents and carers were then taken in tours around the building by #H6 Student Ambassadors, who were all energetic and ready to assist in their bright and welcoming t-shirts. During the tours, parents and carers were able to speak to teachers and progress coaches to see how their child had settled in to their first term as a new member of #TeamHaringey6. They also received guidance around tracking their child's progress using #H6's student performance management software, E-Trackr.
The feedback from parents and carers was very positive. They mentioned how the interaction with the staff gave them the confidence in confirming that their child was placed in the best learning environment.
Jill Lodge, Assistant Director of Academic, Vocational & Pastoral Care mentioned "It was great to have been able to welcome parents/carers/wards of new #TeamHaringey6 students on Thursday night. Having student ambassadors and members of staff on hand from professional services to teaching staff and progress coaches added that extra value, as it meant that they were able to have any and every query surrounding their child's study dealt with from the offset. This was a great reflection of our #H6 values of 'Learning and Teaching is our number one priority' and 'Can do/Will do attitude."
We have boasted that the facilities for our students and staff are absolutely stunning unique. We have stated that every learning space has been totally transformed; we have a brand new lecture-style theatre (transformed by Thornwood Interiors), a fantastic coffee shop and eatery called The Hive@H6 & The Hart@H6 (transformed by Innovate Food), bright, modern classrooms (transformed my Rap Interiors) and a brand new fitness suite. Lest we forget all this is following on from last year’s developments, namely The Innovation Centre, The Hub and The Crib.
"This was a fabulous evening. It provided us at #H6 with a real opportunity to showcase our amazing college. It was also an excellent opportunity for all in attendance to #DiscoverTheDifference and get a first-hand taste of the #H6Experience at Haringey Sixth Form College." Russ Lawrance, Principal & CEO of Haringey Sixth Form College.

Russ also went on to say "Our families, friends and trustees all attended and all were able to check out the new amazing facilities. People got the opportunity to talk to the staff.
The staff at #H6 work so hard on behalf of our young people. Staff in attendance not only included teachers, but all staff, providing the fantastic #H6Experience.
There were conversations about university, careers, additional learning support, travel bursaries and all aspects of finance. The icing on the cake for many was the sampling of food in our new catering area The Hart@H6 and The Hive@H6.
I hope all left with a great feeling of pride as this is a very special place. We consider everyone connected to Haringey Sixth Form College to be an integral part of #TeamHaringey6."
