Haringey Basketball Academy Win first ABL Game

12th October – ABL League, Game 1

St Bonaventure’s VS Haringey Sixth Form College

H6FC started there ABL league campaign with a nail bighting 64 -65 victory over St Bonaventure’s school.

H6FC got into early foul trouble which helped St Bons get control of the game early on, St Bons led by 5pts at the half 35-30.

Foul trouble again for H6FC early in the third quarter saw St Bons push their lead out to 14.

In the final stanza H6FC went on a 24-6 run which would have them up by 4 with 18 seconds left in the game. A big 3 pointer by J. Ragasa cut the H6FC lead to one with under ten seconds remaining.

H6FC got the ball inbounds only to turn it over, after missing 2 shots at point blank range. St Bons were fouled with 3 seconds remaining on the clock.

St Bons missed both free throws to give H6FC its first victory in such a dramatic fashion 64-65.

Haringey Sixth Form Head Coach Perry Lawson said;

“St Bons were the better team for longer periods of the game but we went on a big run when it counted. I’m happy that my team showed character and pulled this one out. St Bons is a very tough place to come and play and they made us work for every bit of this victory.”
