North London Literary Festival

Haringey Unchained participated in the 2017 North London Literary Festival at Middlesex University. After an exciting range of panel discussions and presentations about crossing genre and writing dystopias, the students Zubeyde, Rafaella, Edith and Fatouma promoted their creative blog to a packed room of literary and creative art enthusiasts. They also participated in the Poetry Slam at the end.

Each year, Haringey Unchained works with a university to produce the printed magazine. The university students take submissions from their own students and then the groups get together to run an editorial department, selecting and editing the pieces. They then lay out the flat plan together. This year, it’s University of Warwick. Next year we will be partnering with Middlesex University.

The students met the following writers/journalists (who are photographed below):

Afua Hirsch: writer, barrister, human rights activist who has a book coming out in September this year

Afua Hirsh HUnc
Warren Ellis: Comic book writer,

Warren HUnc
