#H6 THE UNIVERSITY OF CAMBRIDGE - FOOTBALL MATCH

On Saturday 15th May, sixteen of #TeamHaringey6 students visited University of Cambridge for a football fixture that was a reward for their outstanding attitude towards their education in the last year.

All of the students play for local sport for development club Estudiantes that brings together students who are committed to excelling in both education and sport.

Before the game, the students had the opportunity to meet and talk to Saron Mehari, a student from Tottenham who now studies History and Spanish at Cambridge. Saron, who was president of the African and Caribbean Society at Cambridge last year, spoke of the challenges and opportunities of studying at the University of Cambridge, considered one of the best in the world.

The football game itself was a big challenge. The University of Cambridge team were outstanding on the day, showing great technical quality and tactical mastery. However, the Estudiantes team, largely made up of #H6 students showed wonderful Determination and Perseverance to continue trying until the last kick.

One of the stand out performers on the day was Isam Belmoudden, who once again performed Outstandingly well at full back. Isam’s commitment to improve every part of his game is evident in nearly every game, when he exhibits qualities and fitness levels of an elite level sports person.

Omar El Setti, who captained the team also showed an admirable attitude to keep the team together in what was an extremely challenging afternoon.

The game took place on one of the incredible grass pitches at Queens College Sports Ground, one of the many outstanding sports facilities for students at the University of Cambridge. Thank you to the ground staff for producing such a great pitch and thanks also to Re-em Tal and Alexander Bull for their help to arrange the fixture.
