Celebrating Inclusive Education H6 Entry & Foundation Leavers' Ceremony 2019

The season of reward and recognition is in full swing at Haringey Sixth Form College. Following the Sports Award Ceremony and the Jack Petchey Achievement Awards, the Entry & foundation Leavers' Ceremony took place on Tuesday 11th June 2019. It was a stunning afternoon, with the stars of the show being our magnificent entry and foundation students. It was an afternoon full of cheer, laughter, amazing performances, and many rewards and recognition.

Russ Lawrance Principal, & CEO of Haringey Sixth Form College welcomed the audience of invited guests; staff, parents/carers/wards and other family members. Russ, as ever gave his trademark words of inspiration; a real input of energy levels for our events.

"Today’s event really did showcase and celebrate achievement across the Entry & Foundation provision at Haringey Sixth Form College. Dean, his team and the students make an outstanding contribution to the college life and to the wider community, over and above her normal working activities. I am so impressed and so grateful to all our amazing staff in the area who are always so giving of their time, skills and energy for the benefit of our equally fantastic students. Our entry and foundations students inspire me and motivate others. This event really does recognise the outstanding contribution this team of staff, students’ parents and families make to the life of the college. It is a real beating heart. I love it. I and am so proud and so thankful. As was showcased this afternoon here’s so much talent here at Haringey Sixth Form College and we all got together today to celebrate and we should be rightly proud of everyone in the room today my message is well-done again for standing up to be counted." Russ Lawrance, Principal & CEO at Haringey Sixth Form College.

After receiving her award, Monique Bamigbade (studying Life and Living Skills at Haringey Sixth Form College) gave an exit speech saying, “I would like to say a big thank you to my teacher at this college and I would like to thank everyone at Entry & Foundation. When I leave here I will be going to Barnet College to continue studying. Even though I am sad to leave here, I am happy that I am now well prepared for adult life.”

When leaving, one parent’s closing remark was, “Even though my child has to move on, I will be so sad to see them leave this college. This place really has been great to us.” To which our Principal & CEO, Russ Lawrance replied, “You may move on physically but the memories will always remain. We are always here and you are more than welcome to pay us a visit at any time.”

This really is the go to college and we are going from strength to strength.
