Easter Football at #H6
Over the weekend 26 students of #TeamHaringey6 took part in a football training program through the Easter Holidays that included training, matches and tournaments with local team Estudiantes.
It started with a GREAT WIN for the futsal team as they overcame Genesis, one of the leading senior futsal clubs in London. Owen Locke, who is now regarded as one of the best young futsal goalkeepers in England was outstanding, with Mousa Mboup scoring three EXCELLENT goals.
This was followed by a specially arranged internal football training game at Enfield Town Football club which allowed 25 students to play on the fantastic grass pitch. The students all showed a BRILLIANT ATTITUDE, working on tactical play to prepare for their matches.
#TeamHaringey6 TOP 15 players from the training session were given an opportunity to play against Harlow Town Reserves. The students all performed BRILLIANTLY.
There were good chances at both ends, but the game ended goal-less, but the students earned praise from both coaches and spectators. Joe Worf, a leading football analysis worked with the team to prepare tactically and this led to a marked IMPROVEMENT in performance, especially defensive shape.
The students returned to training with a session by their UEFA qualified coach that focused on movement to create opportunities.
#TeamHaringey6 also faced a strong test at a semi-professional development side Ilford FC. On a challenging surface, yet again the students performed well however unlucky lost 1-0 due to a late penalty.
The following day, it was a chance for the inclusion team to compete in a tournament arranged by Tottenham Hotspur Foundation. The students, led by their captain for the day Kieran Wright performed EXCELLENTLY. Jayden Clifford Hamilton, a top BTEC Level 3 Sport student has been coaching team over the last few months and coach the team brilliantly to the semi-finals, where they were unlucky to lose to a very strong Cheshunt FC. It was great to see Bartlomiej, Abdil, Nick, Ashley and Mick performing so very well against some very good senior players.
The past weekend #TeamHaringey6 students travelled to Loughborough University to a tour of the campus plus games in football and futsal. Loughborough is considered to be the best sports university in the world, with outstanding sports provision across all sports.
The students played EXTREMELY WELL against very strong opposition. In futsal, the team matches their outstanding opposition for long periods, but in the end conceded seven goals, including two by former #H6 students who Fabio Teixeira and Tenzin Dhongak who are now part of the International Futsal Academy and completing their degree at Loughborough.
Following this, the students had the chance to play on an incredible football pitch against the Loughborough 2nd team; an EXTREMLEY STRONG and WELL ORGANISED team, it was likely to be a GREAT CHALLENGE as #H6 team performed so very well and held their opponents to a 0-0 draw,
#TeamHaringey6 students return to training on an outstanding 3G pitch, working on finishing to prepare for upcoming games.
This past week #TeamHaringey6 students played a training game against a strong college side, competing well for long periods; with many of the team fasting for Ramadan, the hot conditions proved challenging, and the team fell to a 3-0 defeat.
However back to training on Friday 16th April as 18 #TeamHaringey6 students took part in a training session on the excellent pitch at Haringey Borough Football Club. Again, the focus was on attacking play, especially crossing and finishing.
Yesterday, the students took on Chelsea Rovers, a senior team based in Chiswick. Hoping for a win after their extensive training program. The performance was OUTSTANDING, with some WONDERFUL attacking play on show in what was a BRILLIANT all round team performance. The final score of 7-2 was a great way for the students to finish their Easter football program.
