Russ Lawrance, Principal & CEO of Haringey Sixth Form College said, 'At Haringey Sixth Form College (H6) we aim for excellence in everything we do and this is illustrated by the achievements of the basketball academy. We passionately believe that the work we do here at the college has the power to change lives. Sport is central to my life and, I believe, to every culture and society.

At H6, we believe that through education and sport we have the power to help our students to achieve great things and to learn values that will stand them in great shape for the rest of their lives. I know how hard these boys work so they fully deserve the accolades that are coming their way. The selection for the national squad is fully deserved.

I love being court side watching them play as they are a fantastic group of young men. Alex, Owen and Ndewedo are an inspiration to us all.

I love it when young people are supported to harness the power of sport. Well done to Franck and to the parents. I will be watching and supporting the progress of the boys.'

Basketball England’s Performance and Technical Manager Steve Bucknall said "As we build on the momentum of last year's Great Britain European championship campaigns, this tournament allows us to assess players earlier ahead of potential selection to Great Britain age group teams in 2020.

"For England, we will use this tournament to look at a wider pool of players outside of those who we are monitoring on a weekly basis during their National League seasons.

"We also see our partnership with Scotland and Wales strengthening and providing all our home nation's players with the opportunity to compete, receive exposure and be assessed for international standards."

Very well done boys!
