Art & Culture @ Royal Academy of Arts

On Monday 14th October 2019, a coach load of art students from Haringey Sixth Form College attended a special night of art and culture at the Royal Academy of Arts.

They had free access to the exhibition of the acclaimed sculptor Antony Gormley - his most ambitious show in over 10 years. Students enjoyed finding their way through a series of dark tunnels that took them through the inside of a sculpture, viewing a room filled with water and clay. A favourite for most of them was encountering the gallery filled with life-size bronze figures, standing on the floor, walls and ceiling above.

Throughout the evening, students participated in clay workshops and iPad drawing classes, where they drew from classical casts in the RA vaults. They also got to enjoy a live DJ set and watched a contemporary dance group perform. On top of all this, the tasty free dinner in the RA Peyton and Byrne restaurant went down a treat!
