SFCA, H6 & Haringey Council National Art Exhibition 2020
Following the huge success of the first SFCA National Arts Exhibition: Cloud Land, with the support of Haringey Sixth Form College and Haringey Council, we are delighted to announce the launch of the next 2020 exhibition: Concrete Experience.
Imagine a world in which concrete experience is not the only concrete experience. Imagine a world in which we are all touched by the great outdoors.
Poverty of opportunity and experience, particularly in urban environments, makes it harder for young people to make the most of their outdoor spaces. In response Alexandra Palace will soon be developing a new outdoor learning space in its grounds and this year’s exhibition theme reflects the essential need for us all to connect with our environment.
The exhibition will take place over four days and a Private View & Reception for dignitaries, artists, teachers and families will be held in the evening of Thursday 25th June.
Sixth form colleges represent a vital supply pipeline of talented artists of the future. In order to advance the arts in education, to recognise and celebrate excellence in sixth form colleges, and to stimulate our thinking, SFCA will hold its second National Arts Exhibition next summer.
It is imperative that we keep the arts in education secure and flourishing. If young people are to make a truly valuable contribution to society, even if they are to be successful scientists, engineers, doctors and technicians, they need to develop their creative skills, their artistic sensitivities and their ability to interact with others. - Source: Sixth Form Colleges Association (SFCA)
