This vocational programme is designed for progression into a science based education and career development. This course will allow you to cover the fundamentals of science such as cell biology, chemical reactions and laboratory techniques.
You will study:
Many of the units covered inspire students to pursue additional interest, like mental health, biomedical techniques, instrumental analysis and scientific research. These are often pursued through work experience, work shadowing and enrichment or voluntary work.
Where it leads:
You will progress to Level 3 initially and then onto university to study for a related degree (you will study for the Medical Science Pathway). You can pursue a career in scientific areas such as radiography, biomedical sciences, forensic science or pharmacy
Three or more GCSEs grade 3 including a minimum grade 4 (or C) in English or Maths. Level 1 in a relevant subject will also be considered
