Life & Living Skills - Entry Level 1 OCR
Our Entry Level 1 course is aimed for students with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), severe learning disabilities and/or on the autistic spectrum between the ages of 16-19.
This qualification provides a diverse and personalised curriculum with a focus on total communication, English and maths, developing skills for independent living, social development, dance and movement and engagement with the local community through visits and outings.
For our PMLD learners, there is a greater emphasis on communication and making choices through switch work, art, music and sensory experiences. The therapy team will also work closely with the class teams to ensure that therapy targets are implemented accordingly.
There is no entry requirement, but you will need to have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Priority is given to Year 11 students, based in Haringey, from our Special Schools Riverside, The Vale and Heartlands.
Where it leads:
At the end of your course, you may progress to the Entry Level two course within the department or attend another college or specialist provision.
