Media Studies A-Level
A-Level Media Studies allows students to study the media, develop and formulate their understanding of the media and its influential role in today’s society.
You will study:
- The media industries and their relationship to the media we consume as an audience
- Textual analysis of media products is an important skill developed throughout the course, along with basic production skills
- Essays, presentations and seminars on media related topics, which will develop your research skills
- Working in groups, you will learn to operate cameras and use advanced video software
Where it leads:
You will be able to progress on to university to study a related degree or take up employment within the media industry.
5 or more GCSEs at grade 5 and above, including English or Maths, and a 6 in a Humanities or social science subject.
