March 2020 -
I am going to unashamedly pinch the theme for this month’s March Blog from my beloved Leeds United.
So it’s all about Marchin’ on Together. Over the last four years, yes we have had our ups and downs, but now… WOW!
What we have here is amazing! #TeamHaringey6 continues to demonstrate this through our four key values, the commitment to students and the wider community.
The recent collaboration with Haringey Council and Casual Films can be no better example of this. I keep banging the same drum and the same message that qualification success is vital, but is not enough in isolation for our students and this college. To repeat, this alone is not good enough for our students, our college and for our community.
We have a much wider responsibility. By involving students in live projects such as the example of the I’m Out film, it gives them a great understanding of all aspects of life and it brings learning to life, making it real.
Our students are amazing. Yes, we provide so much in terms of opportunities, but they then have to grab the opportunities, run with them and make them work for themselves.
If you have not had the chance to view the film that premiered last week, here is the link - http://www.imout.org.uk/ and please feel free to share it across social networks etc.
As ever, please continue to follow our social media feeds and keep checking out our website. As you know, we have so many things going on weekly, if not daily here at H6.
Back to the here and now…
Application submissions are up again significantly. The ESFA has funded us to take on more students and we have our last Open Event on the Sat 7th March 2020. We then sweep up and give specific dates for students who have not yet been interviewed. All details are on the footer of this blog.
All students who complete the interview and application process by 31st March 2020, are guaranteed a place at the great college for September 2020.
By September 2020, we will have a brand new professional reception area, brand new toilet and washroom facilities and we will have taken out office spaces and doubled the size of the already amazing Innovation Centre.
Ultimately, all driven by our overarching value of ‘aiming for excellence in everything we do.’
If we can afford it and if it will improve the learner experience it’s simple - WE DO IT!
The #H6Expereince is why students come the Haringey Sixth Form College as they do #DiscoverTheDifference and they do understand that we are very much #MoreThanACollege.
This fantastic college has been re-built and transformed over the last four years. Only a fool cannot see what an impact we have made locally and even nationally. The staff and students, let alone the buildings and facilities are outstanding.
But don’t take my word for it. come and visit and for prospective students secure your place! (Info below)
