Welcome to our website
Haringey Sixth Form Centre opened to our first cohort of students in September 2007. Purpose-built and with state-of-the-art facilities, we exceeded our target number of students and did so again in 2009.
We have a highly qualified, motivated and committed staff team, who are dedicated to working with our students, helping them to achieve their ambitions for the future, whether this is progression to university or into the world of work. We were very proud of the achievements of all our students in 2009 and in particular the 149 students who progressed to University - this group was our very first cohort of 2 year completers and we wish them every success for the future.
We hope you will find everything you need to help you decide which courses to choose from the wide range on offer. To find the course you want easily, use the Quick Course Selector at the top of each page and you can click straight through to your favourite subjects.
You can also take a virtual tour of the Centre and see for yourself the excellent facilities we have - science laboratories, computer suites, theatre, fitness suite and sports hall, industry standard kitchens and much more.
We are confident that you will find a course to suit your interests and needs at the Centre. Courses are available from Pre-Entry to Level 3 including over 30 AS/A2 subjects and 10 vocational areas.
The Centre prides itself on the support it offers to students which includes learning mentors, learning support assistants, careers advisers, counsellors and a welfare adviser.
We may be a relatively new Sixth Form, but we have already established an enviable programme of enrichment activities for our students to take part in alongside their main studies. These include sporting activities such as football, basketball, netball, table tennis and the Duke of Edinburgh Awards scheme. Students can also take part in community activities such as the Millennium Volunteer Awards scheme and numerous clubs including our web magazine and film club and much more.
The Centre also has an active Student Council with elected student representatives from across the Centre.
The Sixth Form Centre aims to be a Centre of Excellence for 16-19 education and training. We are confident that we have made a positive start in achieving this vision, please see our Ofsted Inspection Report. If you want to be a part of our success in 2010, then do apply early as we expect demand for places to be high. You can download an application form from the website - see the How to Apply section of the site.
We hope that this website provides you with all the information you need to help you make the right course choice, but you can also request a copy of our prospectus and application form and arrange an informal tour of the Centre by contacting Student Services on 020 8376 5870.
We look forward to seeing you.
