Student Services & Support

Haringey Sixth Form Centre is keen to ensure that you are well supported during your time with us.  Our students come first and their well being is very important to us.  We have a team of dedicated staff on hand to help you throughout your studies.

Student Services Team

Our Student Support team is available throughout the year (including holidays!) and can help you with all aspects of student life from financial advice to pastoral care.

Some of the services provided by the Student Services team include:

  • Financial advice
  • Guidance & Welfare Services
  • Admissions & Enrolment
  • Maintenance of student data
  • Careers Advice
  • Student Administration i.e. letter mailouts, proof of student status

Personal Tutor

All of our full time students are allocated a Personal Tutor from their first day at the Centre.  They will meet with students individually throughout the year and can help in a variety of ways:

  • be a point of contact for any concerns
  • help students keep on track of their personal progression
  • referring students to other specialist help, if needed
  • ensuring parents are kept up to date of their childs progress

Counselling Services

We have professionally trained student counsellors who are able to offer confidential and non-judgmental advice on a range of matters.  Students can request to see a counsellor themselves by speaking to our Welfare Officer or through their personal tutor.  We have both a male and female counsellor on site and sessions are held in a private room.

Student Welfare

Our Welfare Officer is available within Student Services.  We actively promote Health and Welfare issues and regularly invite representatives in to have stands on issues such as Sexual Health, the HPV vaccination and drug awareness.  We also have an onsite nurse who provides confidential health care advice.

Other services provided by the Welfare Officer includes:

  • help with personal problems
  • financial support
  • advising students on benefits
  • administrating the Hardship Fund
  • help with housing issues

Confidential advice is available if you have personal problems
