This Faculty offers a wide range of AS and A level subjects which encourage you to develop a critical approach to the study of the wider society and human behaviour and relationships.
On academic courses there is a strong emphasis on preparing you for university through developing higher level skills in critical analysis, interpretation and evaluation. If you study humanities, social science and languages subjects, career opportunities are wide ranging and include: the legal profession, the civil service, careers in psychology, working for local government, work in education, human resources management, environmental work, journalism, media work, public relations, social work and so on.
We also have a one-year Bridging Programme to A levels, if you are still working at level 2 but have a strong interest in progressing to AS levels the following year.
In addition, we now offer Public services courses within the Faculty. These are vocational courses which give you a realistic idea of what a career in these occupational areas can offer. As part of these courses, you will have the opportunity to visit a variety of public service providers such as the armed services, the police, fire brigade and in local authorities, In fact, all our courses involve off site visits, and visitors from outside college enriching learning and informing progression choices.
